Hello Everyone, Thank you all for the posts on grocery stores in Moberly. My grandfather, Asa Finnell, had a grocery store on the corner of Franklin St. and Greeley, while living a few houses away on Franklin. My aunt and uncle, the Ervins, and another aunt, Merle Stamper, lived in the home until sometime in the 90's. If anyone remembers this or has any information, I would so appreciate knowing more about it. After the store was sold, when visiting my aunt in Moberly in the 60's, I would watch as she would pick up the operator connected call, (no dial phones for her!), order her groceries and they would be delivered by a teenaged boy. Being from Los Angeles, I thought this was absolutely amazing and immensely charming. How I envied those of you who were fortunate enough to grow up in that area! Again, thank you for all the posts.
