Charlie, I was fortunate enough to be able to come to Macon 3 or 4 years ago and found the Kitchen Cemetery. I took photos of the headstone for Peter and Martha Powell. They came out pretty well and are readable. I would love to have any other photos you might have from that cemetery as well as what you may have for Peter and Martha Powell. I found the headstones resting up against a tree in the cemetery. They had been removed from the ground and their actual location in the cemetery is unknown to me. Martha CARROLL Powell died on Dec. 2, 1842 and Peter Powell, Sr. died on July 14, 1849. After Martha died, Peter married Julia CLEMSON Kitchen on March 10, 1844. After Peter Powell, Sr. died, Julia married for third time to Lewis Gilstrap on Nov. 30, 1852. Julia died on November 12, 1878 in Linn County, Kansas. I remember there was at least one other headstone there and I believe it was a good deal more recent than those for Peter & Martha. Do you know where I might find the names of all those buried at this cemetery? I'm wondering if any other Powell ancestors might be resting there.
