You sent me on a chase again. Anyone who can help with this (and I thought Teri Chase had info about Mariah Cleeton some time ago). I started looking at the children of Mirty (found her in 1910 as Myrtle L, 1920 as Mertie) and seems that William Franklin Williams was married before - the children on the census don't match with the children named in his obituary. I show son Eugene born Burton, Howard Co 21 Nov 1896 daughter Elois L born Jul 1898 MO (probably Burton) daughter unknown born 14 Oct 1900 (and died before 1910 census per mother's report) daughter Goldie F born ca 1902 MO (probably Burton) Looking into Andrew Ewing and wife in Nebraska as given in William's obit, I find an Andrew Ewing age 35 living with wife Myrtle age 32 (born MO, MO, MO) and son Glenn age 9 in 1920 in Hallam Village, Lancaster Co, NE. Looking at Linda Quinn's FANTASTIC marriage index transcriptions, I find Andrew Ewing marrying Jessie Myrtle Williams 20 Mar 1907 (book 2 page 255 - date filed); appears to be the Andrew and Myrtle above (because of being I hope William William's daughter. William F Williams and Mirty Elliner Mobley married ca 1896; THEY couldn't be Jessie Myrtle's parents (besides, Mirty was born in 1878 a little young to have a child born about 1887. So, now the question. Looking for Jessie Myrtle's mother - I see on Linda Quinn's trnscriptions that William Williams married Mariah Cleeton 27 Dec 1883. In time for her to be the mother of Jessie Myrtle. I don't right now have her on the census before 1920 when she was a Dougherty. Do you or does anyone else know if the William Williams who married Mariah Cleeton is this William Franklin Williams? Sure looks like it.
