I have done a bit of research and collecting. My Williams starts with Colden Williams the preacher who was in Howard Co by 1816 and died there 1832. I come from two of his thirteen children - Sarah Elizabeth who married Nero Morgan Thompson and John Calhoun who married Sarah Chism. Colden came from NC through SC and KY. There was also a Lewis A Williams, father of William and John Berry (known as Berry) who was from Virginia. Would love to exchange with you. One of my ancestors in Macon County, Mo is Pleasant Calhoun and Paulina Clark. They were married in In. but Pleasant was born in Guilford Co., NC. His father was James but we cannot determine the father for James. He was the son of Colden C Williams born 27 Feb 1763; there is confilct as to where he was born. The DAR says MD; I have him in Edgecombe Co NC 24 Aug 1779 when he was bound out as the son of John and Mary Williams. That is my dead end. I hope I did not lead you astray with saying John Calhoun - I should have specified Williams. Lazy me. However, I live in NC and my library has some Guilford Co resources. Tell me more about your Pleasant Calhoun's father James such as dates. I will check and see if I can find anything. No promises.
