    3. Hi everyone, This answer is thanks to the enquiring and very sharp mind of my cousin, Lorene Paschal. She posted it to the Howard list, but didn't realize that I was also posting to the Randolph. Here is her answer. In Kathy's Higbee News for May 10, 1912 occurred the term "varioloid." >From the dictionary: "Med. a modified mild form of smallpox, or variola, occurring in persons who have been vaccinated or had smallpox."
