25 April 2000 Hello All... Hello Cousin Charles... I am new to the "Randolph Co List" at Rootsweb and am researching the Lester Family...I am mainly interested in Edward Frederick Lester's wife who was the mother of his first two children, Josephine and Clara... Edward, born in Feb 1870, and his father Addison P Lester, were were living with Edward's sister Lovelia Lester Wolf and her husband John M Wolf...on the 1880, Sugar Creek Twp, City of Moberly, Randolph Co, Missouri... Between then and 1900 he got married to a lady that I can not find and had two daughters... My grandmother Josephine Marion Lester was born 24 April 1896 and Clara Bresset Lester was born November 1899... This is when the mother died... My grandmother, and her sister Clara, were never told where they were actually born or who their mother was because the father wanted them to believe their step mother was their real mother... We found letters, after grandma died, between the two sisters stating their suspicion and how they wanted to find the real truth...so I started digging and ordering soundex and census reports... On the 1900, Sangamon Co, Springfield, Ill Census, Edward lives with a new wife of 2 months. her name was Clara Hines.. Josephine is not there, but Clara, a daughter to the head of household is, and the new wife has never had children...she eventually had 2 more daughters...Bertha and Edna Clara... Josephine was found living in Coles Co, Ill, Mantoon Twp, living with Aunt Geneva... I have all the rest of this family back to the 1840's but in all my 40 years of research on this family I have not been able to locate who my great grandmother Lester was... I would appreciate hearing from anyone else who might have info on this lady... LINDA...OREGON
