Phyllis, Thank you for confirming my theory. I am not connected to your family in any way that I know of, though my Dougherty and St. Clair ancestors are connected to many of the common surnames in Howard, Boone and Randolph Counties. I was attempting to help Carole in order to repay her many kindnesses to me and I became interested in trying to figure out just how the Ratherford family fit together.
