Or any cemetery list for Clifton Hill. I'm Looking for a death date for a Mrs Saude (Bagby) Matlock . born June ? 1889 in Benton CO MO (Warsaw) 1900 Census, she is in school. 1910 census, she is an English School Teacher in Warsaw, 2nd ward Lindsay TWP in Benton CO. On Charles Hess web site I see in 1920 a person Named S Matlock. I believe that is Saudie. She was married to the editor of Clifton Hill newspaper called the RUSTLER. His name was Charles Caples Matlock b:2-28-1890 d: Jan 5th 1919 He was buried in Clifton Hill Cemetery. (Only 27 years old) They could not have been married very long. I loose track of Saudie after that. I don't see her on 1930 census. (I checked only Clifton TWP on Census CD) She is not on SSDI nor in the State of MO death list. That usually means re Marriage. .She was only 31. Not sure where she disappeared to. Saudie is out of the Randolph CO MO Bagby' line Does anyone see her teaching in Randolph CO. Schools? A Marriage record to someone else? Warsaw Library has squat, She is not in Warsaw's Riverside Cemetery, where I found some of her family members. I would appreciate any help. All I found that was pertinent on this list archives was this. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------- Friday, 10 Jan 1919, Vol 32, No 38--Caples Matlock, editor of the Clifton Hill Rustler, one of Randolph's neatest and best papers, died at his home in that place Sunday from influenza. He was 27 years old, and is survived by his wife. Mr. Matlock had only recently leased his paper and was preparing to move to Moberly to accept a position as deputy under circuit clerk C. M. Hulen. --------- James M. Bagby Indep. MO
James, I can't help you with your dilemma, but thought I would mention that I have a picture of Sudie's older sister Maude with my grandmother Berkley Keeling (Bradley) Stark (the picture is probably dated between 1910 and 1915 and the inscription on the back says "Berkley Stark and Maude Bagby." I could send this picture to you if you're interested. My grandmohter was a first cousin to Maude and Sudie Bagby as Berkley's father George Luther Bradley was a younger half-brother to Jessie Emeline Malone who married J.W. Bagby and were parents to both Maude and Sudie. I also show that Maude and Sudie had brothers names Rhea and Owen. Does this agree with what you have, and were there any other children? Finally, the Missouri Death Certificate database does have the death certificate for Jessie Emeline Bagby in case you're interested. She died in 1920 -- her informant was Maude Bagby. Thanks!
