    3. Of course you knew of Dr. W's first wife....the Dysart....who is buried north of Yates, but in typing the info for you I wanted to think that I'd read somewhere where he actually began his practice at Myers....now Bunker Hill.....in Bonne Femme Twp, Howard County. I used to have an old poison record and pharmacy bottle that I think dated from his practice there, but I could be confusing the Dr's. My wife and I lived for years the in the Higbee home that Dr. Tyre Dinwiddie (one of Dr. Winn's older contemporaries who also hailed from Howard and who is buried at Myers/Bunker Hill) who built it in l890. My son and daughter-in-law now live in it. Higbee had a number of medical doctors, dentists, etc. The Dr. Brown mentioned in the Winn info was quite a fellow apparently....when he died it was found that he owned thousands of acres in Texas, Colorado, etc.., had served in the legislature in the latter, but was a New Yorker by birth and had graduated from the medical school attached to Bellevue hospital in NYC. He apparently lived in Indiana first, where his body was shipped from Higbee after his dropping dead in the door of his S. Randolph St. drug store. He was a devoted Republican, it seems, not a common thing in Higbee. Another contemporary of his was a mysterious man (I can't recall his name at the moment) who is said to have ridden into Higbee on a white horse, opened a funeral parlor, operated a coffin factory, and when he died....alone in one of the rooms in Dr. Brown's hotel....The News mused that it was thought the man had escaped from Ireland where he may have been of royal birth.....good discussion topics in the pre-radio/TV days!
