The following are selected articles from the Newspaper, "The Higbee News" issued out of Higbee, in Randolph County, Missouri from the years 1887 through 1953. The editors were W. H. Welch and his son H. Scott Welch. This paper covered the Higbee area and the northeastern part of Howard county. No. 9, Page 5, Col. 4--LOCAL AND PERSONAL--Leonard Ancell spent the Fourth in St. Louis, making the trip in his car. He was accompanied as far as Union by Virgil Dougherty, who had been visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Dougherty, for several weeks. Thursday, 5 July1928, Vol 42. No. 9, Page 5, Col. 4--LOCAL AND PERSONAL--Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Johnson and children of La Grange spent the first of last week with Mrs. Johnson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wade Fullington.
