Janet - My great grandmother's sister, Minnie Lay, married Oscar Winn. All this talk of the Winn's and this is the first I have heard of an Oscar. Unfortunately, I don't think this is my Oscar, as he was born around 1874. I looked up the census' of 1880 and around. There is a Winn family in Salisbury, and that Oscar was 13 in 1880. There seems to be a Georgia Winn in another family, age 20, in the 1880 census. And, a Gertie, age 15, in yet another family. So maybe they are all cousins. Wish it were my Oscar, though! I have 3 photos of Winns...Gertie, Georgia, and Oscar. All appear to be in late teens/early twenties. The photos were taken in Salisbury MO, but I don't know who these folks are or where they actually lived. I think they may have been friends of one of my family lines, but really don't know.
