    1. Re: [MoRandolph] Higbee News, 21 June 1928, pt 2 of 3
    2. Carey you might want to look you data over closer. Susan Frances Bagby names her son,, John Brackinridge Terrill. after her father. John Bagby I think they called him Brock Terrill. You would think it would be Brack Terrill. Not so, Im told I don't have a documented middle name for Susan's dau 1866 Jessie Terrill.,Nothing on her. But Susan's 2 older daughters married Botts who were brothers, John & Wm Botts/ Their mother was a Pope, Jane A Pope & Manley H. Botts Jane A Poe Father Lawrence & Susan Wilhoit Had a second dau, Emily Y that Married Sam Edwin Botts from Culpepper Co Va. "They inter mingled" Also you have Martha Alice (Hayden) Terrill daughter as Ruby Frances Terrill. Ouch, I have Ruby A, & wrote (Probably Alice as her mother) I'll red flag this & see if I can find a document. Ha, I'm not going to call Ruby at North Village. I think Nellie (Dameron) Bagby said Brock Terrill was first married to a Pope women I don't know anything about Angeline Wilkens & her claim to fame. I personally wouldn't claim I was related to Crazy John Brown. Ps I found an old land plat that gave the location of a couple Botts Farms. It's been along time sense I look at this line. The suggestion to replace Susan's headstone fell on death ears at Bagby reunion. James M Bagby I did not post this to list or cc it to anyone.... In a message dated 3/22/2006 3:09:39 P.M. Central Standard Time, [email protected] writes: Ben, I did quite a bit of work on these families a year or two ago primarily since Ruby's daughter, Martha Ann, and I went all through school together and I guess she would qualify as my first sweetheart (I don't know if she'd admit to that or not!) At any rate, Ruby Frances Terrill was the only child of James Breckenridge Terrill (l86l-l932) and Martha Alice Hayden (l871-l956). He is buried in the Botts Cem east of Higbee which has been in horrible condition for years. She is buried in the Higbee Cem where I'm sure Ruby will be buried. Martha was a daughter of Melvin B. & Angeline Frances Wilkins he ca l835-l892 she l84l-l93l. Martha Ann's brother has told me of a Civil War era letter to some of these latter folks, which we keep saying we' re going to copy for the Randolph Co Hist Society files, but which hasn't happened yet. Melvin was a son of J. W. Hayden and Martha T. _______. Angeline was a daughter of a George Wilkins b. ca l8l2 and a Mary A. ______, said to have been b. in TN. Angelina's Higbee obit mentions her being a first cousin of both the abolitionist John Brown an Pres. James Knox Polk, but in looking at their pedigrees I haven't been able to document that claim. Another juicy mystery to solve! Hope this is of use...stay in touch.
