    3. I agree with you after following the census. He continually stated he was born in Arkansas. I have Elvira Mobley (Bass/Hopper)in 1860 - 1900 census (in Nebraska) and Moses in 1860 (I think) through 1900. I don't find either in 1910 (but could have missed them) Elvira had 12 children, 10 living, but I can only find 10 of them. It seems she married Moses Bass about 1870. I also have Joseph Thomas Hopper in the census from 1870 through 1930. Except cannot find him in 1880. If anyone is interested.     2. I found Moses Bass Jr. in the 1850 Chariton Township, Schuyler Co. Census. He has a wife named Lydia and five children. I noticed on the 1880 Census that there's a David Bass in the household listed as a nephew. RJ
