    3. One correction to my previous message about Alexander Denny of Howard Co. MO. The family was from Kentucky (Garrard and Madison Co, KY) before coming to Howard County, Missouri. Research suggests that they may have come from North Carolina before coming to Missouri and Virginia before that, but not for sure. Cecy Rice

    3. Noah You don't mention who you are asking about Alex Denny. However since I have one of the "Denny Genealogy" book (Book 2) which covers my ancestors, and they are the ones that came to Howard county, I will put my 2 cents worth in. I don't see any mention in the Denny Genealogy of the Walkers or Walters that you mention in your email. They also do not appear in my own research of the Alexander Denny family from NC and Howard Co, MO. So I would say there is probably no connection with the Howard Co, MO Dennys. There are two other books on Denny genealogy from the same authors as the book I mentioned above. They cover different Denny lines. I don't have them but I think the State Historical Society of Missouri in Columbia does. They are very well done. Might try that. Cecy Rice

    3. Could this be Alex Denny from the Armstrong area? Noah I have Alex Denny, born Missouri, date unknown, died 1843 married Harriett Walker, date/place unknown, birthdate/place unknown, died 1878 Their child Mary Elizabeth Denny, born St. Louis, St. Louis, MO 23 Feb 1844 married Henry Harrison Walters of Maury Co., TN., died 24 Jan 1918, Maury TN A Walters descendant who knew Mary Elizabeth said to me, "Mary came with widowed mother to Santa Fe, Maury Co., TN to visit cousins Dr. Frank Cossat, Ed Walker, and Fowler Walker. Another cousin was Jeff Kirkpatrick." Also, one of Mary Denny's children is Dennie Coleman Walters. Does any of this show any signs of connecting with your Dennys? I would appreciate hearing from you.

Author: jgrezlik Surnames: Smith, Vogel Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.randolph/883/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am looking for informaiton on the Halloran Theater and any "special" hospital in the Moberly, MO area. I have old postcards from family living in Moberly in the 1909(maybe) to the 1912 time frame. I have a business card for Ollie Smith, property manager of the Halloran Theater and a post card from his sister Flossie concerning the illness of their father. Their father, Samuel Smith, had cancer and was in a hospital in Moberly. Another son John J. Smith was an engineer for the railroad and appears to have been in Moberly about 1910, at least, we think we found him on the 1910 census there. I am also, looking for a marriage for John J. Smith to Hattie Vogel. I think they were married in MO. Don't know where, but think Moberly. Thank you for any help. 2. James Hoskins
    3. Greetings: I'm trying to find a descendant of Harvey Edwards. I think he was the son of Rose Zettie Ann Dillman and Harvey Edwards. He died I think sometime between 1993-now... it is possible he is still alive but I am not sure. I have a very large and old family portrait album that I want to try to see if someone in his family can identify the people pictured. Thanks in advance. JJ Hoskins
