My mistake! It should read as follows: Now with this info I would suspect that this Robert E. COURTNEY is not the same, but my GrandMother Cora Belle also lived in Hannibal, and in the 1920 Census there is a Cora Belle PIERCE living in Vandalia, MO. Where she is living and has a child by the name of Irene and husband name of Ernest (ages and birthplaces fit my grandmother). Also Vandalia is close to Curryville, MO where she had just lost her husband of 3 months to influenza in 1918. Nothing would surprise me with these two; living together for several years and having two kids, just to get married and then separate, with them it would be a possibility. Again any help (suggestions) would be appreciated! -- Jim Lowary www.lowary.org Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Courtney (my grandfather I think) married a Cora Belle PIERCE in Macon Co., MO it list Roberts residence as Moberly, Randolph Co., MO and Cora Belle as Hannibal, Marion Co., MO. Now my GrandMother's name is Cora Belle (ALLISON) AUDREY/COURTNEY/SMITH (don't have a PIERCE in there that I know about, but...) and they were together from 1922 thru 1925 dates when my Aunt and Mother were born and both listed as Father/Mother on birth Cert. And in the 1930 Census I have found him in Quincy, IL living with my Aunt and next to his mother and sister, plus married to a Eveline ???(who is about 19 at the time and was married at age 18). Now with this info I would suspect that this Robert E. COURTNEY is not the same, but my GrandMother Cora Belle also lived in Hannibal, and in the 1920 Census there is a Cora Belle PIERCE living in Mexico, MO. Where he is living and has a child by the name of Irene and husband name of Ernest (ages and birthplaces fit my grandmother). So there are just two many coincidences to ignore it entirely, that is why I'm looking at it (if for no other reason to rule it out). Mr. Wallace is deceased. As I mentioned, you might contact Mrs. Louise Coutts, who I believe is the Howard Co DAR secretary, or Mrs. Robert Alexander -- I mail my daughter's dues to the latter each year. Mr. Wallace had a cousin, Mrs. Patsy Kaufman of Armstrong, who may have his old papers, etc.
Hi again. I forgot to ask how I could contact Mr.Wallace. Thanks again. Kahty, Shirley and anyone else interested in Williams - Following Kathy's message is a short chart of descent of Lewis A. Williams. You can see where children/grandchildren and so on marry into Newman, Dougherty, Frazier, and many other of our lines. I have not followed fully yet, but since my Dougherty line is direct from Colden, once Lewis gets entangled in that, that automatically takes Lewis and Colden's lines together. If only as cousins of some degree. I have done a bit of research and collecting. My Williams starts with Colden Williams the preacher who was in Howard Co by 1816 and died there 1832. I come from two of his thirteen children - Sarah Elizabeth who married Nero Morgan Thompson and John Calhoun who married Sarah Chism. Colden came from NC through SC and KY. There was also a Lewis A Williams, father of William and John Berry (known as Berry) who was from Virginia. Would love to exchange with you. No, I haven't run across any Palmers in my work, but your saying that the one Palmer died in 1869 and was buried in Renick is puzzling, since Higbee didn't appear until completion of the Katy RR in 1872.
