    3. I checked the Randolph County Marriage records (clerk's index filmed by Mormon Church) and while I was in a hurry and they only go to 1895 (though the film says later) and found 6 lady Bradleys after 24 Dec 1888 - none married to a Williams. Here goes Alba & Daniel C Jacoby 8 Feb 1895 4/599 (this is book and page number for the actual marriage) Minnie & John R Scheck 15 Jun 1894 4/514 Belle & John Bassett 30 Aug 1894 4/526 Ida & S A Mitchell 14 Jan 1893 4/333 Lora & J C Freeman 24 Apr 1893 4/370 Sallie & W H Colley 2 Sep 1893 4/487 I don't guarantee there were no more - I looked quickly because I had to leave the FHC and had spent most of my time fooling around on something else. By the way - your Williams - is that a connection to Colden Williams b 1763 RW soldier, died in Howard Co? If so, I'd be interested in exchanging info with you. My MO direct line includes Dougherty, Enyart, Mobley, Thompson and Williams with a completely different line of Dryden in Linn Co. 1. [MORANDOL-L] Randolph Co MARRIAGE RECORDS
    2. 29 April 2000 7:02 pm pst Dear Carolyn... I was wondering if you could get the Microfilm # of the Randolph Co Clerk Marriage Records Index, filmed by the LDS, for me...I would love to order and read it... I am looking for my Great Grandfather Edward Frederick Lester, who married a lady who was the mother of my grandmother, in or around 1893 - 1899...she had her first child 24 April 1896 and died in childbirth in 1899, when her 2nd child was born... We don't even know what her name was nor have we ever found the record of the marriage. I have tryed to look at what was available and did not see a marriage records in the LDS microfilm files... I would appreciate it very much...Is there any birth records and death records for that time also in Randolph Co??? Thankyou...LINDA

    3. Hello everyone, I am helping a friend who doesn't have a computer look for information on her grandfather. Robert Franklin Sears (Frank) was born 16 Jan. 1882 d. 16 Sep.1920 m. 16 Dec.1900 to Effie Belle Minor. This couple was divorced in 1906 they had two children James and Howard Sears. My friend is the daughter of James. Both of her parents, her only sibling and her uncle are dead as well as her grandmother. Her grandmother didn't speak of Frank and so we know only the information I have listed here about him. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You Sheila Roush

    1. [MORANDOL-L] Wife of Edward Frederick LESTER
    2. 25 April 2000 Hello All... Hello Cousin Charles... I am new to the "Randolph Co List" at Rootsweb and am researching the Lester Family...I am mainly interested in Edward Frederick Lester's wife who was the mother of his first two children, Josephine and Clara... Edward, born in Feb 1870, and his father Addison P Lester, were were living with Edward's sister Lovelia Lester Wolf and her husband John M Wolf...on the 1880, Sugar Creek Twp, City of Moberly, Randolph Co, Missouri... Between then and 1900 he got married to a lady that I can not find and had two daughters... My grandmother Josephine Marion Lester was born 24 April 1896 and Clara Bresset Lester was born November 1899... This is when the mother died... My grandmother, and her sister Clara, were never told where they were actually born or who their mother was because the father wanted them to believe their step mother was their real mother... We found letters, after grandma died, between the two sisters stating their suspicion and how they wanted to find the real truth...so I started digging and ordering soundex and census reports... On the 1900, Sangamon Co, Springfield, Ill Census, Edward lives with a new wife of 2 months. her name was Clara Hines.. Josephine is not there, but Clara, a daughter to the head of household is, and the new wife has never had children...she eventually had 2 more daughters...Bertha and Edna Clara... Josephine was found living in Coles Co, Ill, Mantoon Twp, living with Aunt Geneva... I have all the rest of this family back to the 1840's but in all my 40 years of research on this family I have not been able to locate who my great grandmother Lester was... I would appreciate hearing from anyone else who might have info on this lady... LINDA...OREGON

    3. My Handy Book for Genealogists says that "county clerks were required to register births and deaths from 1883 to 1893. Records still extant can be obtained from the county clerk or the Missouri State Archives, 1001 Industrial Drive, PO Box 778, Jefferson City MO 65102. State registration of births and deaths began in 1863 but did not reach full compliance until 1911. Don't know if this will help Jan with her request, though. But it might be worth a try. 3. According to "The Handybook For Genealogists" pg 225: "Count clerks were required to register births and deaths from 1883 to 1893. Box 570, Jefferson City, MO 65102. To verify current fees for birth records, call 573-751-6400." In my own experience, the 1883-1893 records for several counties are still in existance and most have been microfilmed. There isn't an actual birth certificate, rather just an entry in a record book of some sort. I haven't seen any evidence of any other birth records other than those after 1910. Anybody else? NOTE: Exception on dates - St. Louis City began keeping records as early as 1847 (incomplete). I once tried to obtain a record for a relative born in Randolph County in the 1883-1893 time period. My request was returned with a note saying the record was not readable and to try the county courthouse. The indication was that whatever copies the Archives had were originally obtained from the county courthouse. I never followed that up so I cant say if the Randolph County courthouse has anything or not that would be useful. My own grandfather was born on a farm outside of Higbee in 1901. He also had to get a delayed birth certificate. Carole Brace

    3. John Warren Bagby is in his late 60's in 1870...the other John Bagby should be about late 50's... This 2nd John Bagby seems to come out of nowhere...doesn't seem to have parents or siblings..this is the most frustrating family I have worked on... anne > This is the only BAGBY I have...doesn't look like same ones but probably > related > > Husband: John Warren BAGBY > > > Wife: Mildred WARD > > > Children... > > 1. 3. Have been off all my genealogy lists due to my husband's illness but am now trying to find his elusive Bagbys. Uncle Dave sent some of the bible records... John Bagby was born June 15, 1814 at Clover Hill, Virginia..I believe that Clover Hill later became Appomatox, Virginia..he married Elizabeth Davidson in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1844. They left Virginia some time after the 1850 census then reappear in Randolph County in 1870. I haven't been able to find them on the 1870 Randolph county census yet. They had the following children: Samuel born 1846 died 1864 or 1867 Daniel born 1848 Elizabeth born 1851 Madora/Medora born 1854 Andrew Broadus Bagby born 1857 John born 1861 died??? November 7, 1892 Anna born 1863..died 1866 Mary born 1867 ...died 1868 John Bagby died December 22, 1887...age 73.. Elizabeth Bagby died July 16, 1896 Andrew Broadus Bagby married Ada Gregory of Huntsville, Missouri at her home in Huntsville on January 28, 1896.. they moved to Danbury..Red Willow county, Nebraska..where they are buried The family members who died in Randolph County have to buried some place but none of the family has been able to find the graves. The only other clue that I have is that the family were very strong Baptists. anne Bagby
