    1. [MORANDOL-L] Look-up Offer (AZ War Dead)
    2. ~~Leslie~~
    3. Back on Monday, 31 May 1999, The Arizona Republic (newspaper) devoted quite a lot of space to listing the men, from AZ, who gave their lives in the service of their country during WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam. (Unfortunately, many men, who died of diseases while serving, are not included in the list.) Most of this listing also includes a "Home of Record" for each person. If you happen to be looking for anyone from AZ, who might be in the list, let me know. I'll be glad to check for you. [Please do ask me in the next few days though, as I have trouble keeping track of such things, and this article might not surface here in my computer room again for a long time.] Leslie (Bridges) Kohler

    1. [MORANDOL-L] Noonan/Rother families
    2. The Noonan family arrived in Moberly in 1876. My husband's grandparents, Richard and Jennie Noonan, were married there about 1879. Their first child, Will, was born in 1880 and baptized at St. John's. Tried finding the marriage certificate there but records were burned. Also, could not find their marriage at Huntsville, the county seat, because they said the records were burned. Would anybody have any idea how I can find this info? Also, my husband's father had a tailor shop in Moberly. He lived there between 1914 and 1929. Thanks for your assistance. Cathy from St. Louis

    1. [MORANDOL-L] Rankin/Tippit/Holland/Edwards
    2. James E Nicholson
    3. Hello again: I am searching for anything related to the Rankin family who lived in Higbee. Gordon Rankin was a known member of the community, his sister Jean married Jack Little who played on a baseball team and was a musician. John Rankin was a postmaster and Justice of the Peace. Lillian Elliott Tippit married John P. Rankin Jr., and she was the first child born in the community of Elliott (no longer in existence). Her father was William G. Tippit, who married Hannah Holland, one of six sisters. That's all I know of them, except that they came from England. When William G. Tippit died Hannah married Samuel Lewis Edwards and had two children. Anything would be welcome. I will be happy to share what I have. Alice in Arizona

    1. [MORANDOL-L] Randolph Co Cemetery Indes Book
    2. 6 July 2000 Hello All... Dear Carolyn... I didn't know that the Cemetery Book was on microfische at the FHC...I order microfilm and fisch all the time, but I guess I have never seen the Cemetery book, or I would have had it....I will order them to have in my FHC along with any other records of that nature for Randolph Co, MO...It will take me 10 to 14 days to get it... I would appreciate it if you could look for a marriage for Edward Frederick Lester to any female prior to April 1896...My grandmother, Josephine Mary Lester, was born 24 April 1896, but she never knew where, nor her mothers name...and since she died in 1953 at the age of of 57, she never filed for Social Security so she never had to prove it or produce a delayed birth certificate ...Her sister Clara Bressett Lester was born June 1899 and that is when I think the mother died in childbirth... He remarried another lady in February and the 1900 census says that they have only been married 5/12 and it was taken the 6th of June 1900... That was in Springfield, ILL and Josephine is down in Coles Co, ILL with Edwards sister Geneva Haring and her husband... I know that her father was in Moberly, Randolph Co, MO Sugar Creek Twp in 1880, living with his father and his sister along with her Husband and family...I know that they last record of Adison P. Lester being alive was in a statement given by him...He was the physician of record and he had to reply to a request for a statement...but after 1882 I find nothing to say he is alive... Thank you so very much for what ever you can look up for me and I do appreciate it...LINDA

    3. I will have to look further for the will of James L Page - I bought 2 microfilms of Howard Co wills and administrations and have only begun to look at the first one. Don't know how high it goes, but begins with 1850-1856. Let you know when I can about the James L Page 1877-1882. There is a lot more on St Clair Page, too, but here is his will as abstracted by Carolyn Bartels. #218 in her book Last Will of St Clair Page After debts paid all property to be divided among my children & grandchildren who represent their deceased parents. To son James Page $700, a Negro boy Elliot or Alexander & since he has received a large estate from his grandfather I don't feel it is proper to give him more. I have given to my son-in-law Garrett W Morehead & wife Sarah Ann about $1200 which is to be charged against them. I gave them a Negro girl Mary Ann Eliza. Son John Page in addition I give him real estate 250 acres which shall be charged against him at distribution. Son St Clair Page Jr to have land also & a negro man named Ben. To my daughter Lydia $336.96 she is to receive, not to be charged against her as she received nothing from the estate of her brother. I acted as amdr of the estate of my son William Page; the children who were distributees: St Clair Page, Jr; Matilda; Benjamin; Franklin and Thomas are entitled to receive portions of their brother's estate. they are entitled to $338.96 each which has not been paid [JUST NOTICED THE DIFFERENCE IN 338.96 AND 336.96 - I WILL CHECK IT AND SEE WHICH I WROTE DOWN WRONG, IF ANY] All of my younger children are to be clothed, schooled & a common English education & supported out of my general estate, this not to be charged against them at distribution. Execs to sell the balance of my estate, property real & personal & distribute the proceeds among my childen who may be living. With the exception of my son John & the portion to my granddaughter the daughter of Mary Scott formerely the wife of John Scott, this amount to remain in trust for the arrival at age or marriage. In the distribution she is to be charged with $1396.54 which had been advanced to her mother during her lifetime. If granddaughter should die without any issue, then hers reverts back to my children. Signed 8 May 1852 Wit: M B Collins & Lewis Jacobs 17 Jun 1852 witnesses appeared in court, will filed. Sec: Bemjamin Lewis, Thomas W Morehead, Thomas J Owen, & Lewis S Jacobs. $60,000 bond. Further entry #442 St Clair Page dec'd minor heir Benjamin F Page. John Page as the guardian apptd 7 Aug 1855. Garrett W Morehead & St Clair Page as security $8,000 bond. Minor heir Lydia Page, Garrett Morehead as guardian. In the microfilm of the Probate Records of Howard Co 1850-1856 30 Jun 1852 May B Collins & James Wallace appointed witnesses to assist Garrett Morehead Exr estate of St Clair Page. ---- they were to help with the many books and papers. 5 July 1852 Ordered by the court that Garrett W Morehead admr estate of St Clair Page decd sell the following slaves of said estate on the 1st Monday in August before the courthouse down in Fayette on twelve months ended agreeable to the (can't read) after the will of the dec'd to wit: Negro man Lindsey, woman Nancy & her child - girl Sally - boy Lewis - girl Jane and boy Reubin There is more but that is all I had time for.
