Could someone please help me out? On December 25, 1908 Annie Box married A. W. Trautman. I would like to know if there is an article in the newspaper on this marriage. I would appreciate if someone could look this up for me next time you are at the library. Thanks so very much. Gene Box

My ggreadmother died in Belleaire and was listed in the Moberly paper.. Where is Belleaire???
Larry, I have a suggestion: Save the file in .rtf and most Windows word processors can read it and keep the formatting. I use this file type a lot when exchanging files. I echo the thank yous for all your good work. Doris Wilson.

Wondering when the death index for Randolph Co. will be updated past "Q". Thank you Larry Sumpter for all the hard work you do. Linda Manning
List I have been asked by several about the past post's of the Randolph county newspapers. I have them in 3 Microsoft Word documents that I can send to anyone that wants all the back post; please realize that each is about 50+ pages each. I can convert these to text files that would not have any formatting, they would be hard to read though. They are marriages & divorce; deaths & estates, & misc.; with a few articles that I have thought would be of interest. There are in the 4 newspapers in the time period that I'm working on 1880-1889. I try to do 10 years for a newspaper, then go to a different newspaper in the same era. It takes me about 4 hours to do a month of a daily, less with a weekly. E-mail me privately & I will be more than glad to send the old posts. Larry Wm Sumpter sumpter@missvalley.com

Does anyone know if there are cemetery indexes for Randolph Co. online? I am trying to find out if my Reid ancestors may be buried in this county. John Reid owned some land here as well as Monroe and maybe Callaway Counties. He died in Monroe Co. but doesn't seem to be buried there. Thanks Don L. Fox DonFox@cybertrails.com
I'd like to add my thank you as well. As someone who has been reading the microfilm of the "Higbee News" for the last five or six years, I know how much time and effort (not to mention sore shoulders and bloodshot eyes) are required to read those old papers. It's appreciated. Kathy Bowlin
Larry, I also concur, as a former resident of Moberly in the 1930's and 40's, there are many names recognized from your postings and I forward a few of them to people in Moberly who do not have internet so they kind of get double mileage. Thanks for your efforts. Lou Myers
Larry, I agree, too, keep'em coming, please... Dixie Lea...
Larry, I agree with Merideth. The are really G-R-E-A-T! We enjoy reading them. And when a name we know pops up, we really smile. Thanks. Ed Jenkins
List I did not know where to post this exactly. I'm sure someone, someplace would like to have this information. Pass it on if you know where. Thanks Larry Wm Sumpter ============================ Family Reunion We have received from Attica, Ind., a communication which we find too long for the crowded state of our columns. We therefore condensed the facts: Anthony Harmon, Esq., formerly a resident of Randolph, removed from the county with his family of five sons and two daughters about the close of the war, and settled in Warren county, Ind., on a large farm belonging to a bachelor brother, Jacob Harmon. Four of the five sons and both of the daughters have since married and there is an issue of about a dozen grand children. Mrs. Harmon, senior, was a Miss. Carver, and sister of the late Milton Carver, Mrs. Charles Featherstone, Mrs. Bloomfield Hutsell, Mrs. Jane Buckner, deceased, (mother of Mrs. John G. Burton), Mrs. Benj. J. Haley, (mother of Revs. T. P. and H. Haley, well known ministers of the Christian church, and that prince of Jolly bachelors, J. N. B. Carver, all of whom are now or have been residents of Randolph. About thirty years ago the latter, Mr. Jere Carver, left for California. In ten or twelve years he returned to the United States, locating first in New York and then in Buffalo. For thirty years he did not visit the home of his youth. Sometime during the summer Mrs. Hutsell advised Mrs. Harman that she designed visiting her, with some of the younger members of the family about the 1st of August. This fact was communicated to Jere Carver and to other members of the scattered family without letting them know that a reunion was contemplated. Mr. Carver arrived first. Then came Mrs. Huntsell of this county and her grand nieces, Mrs. John Harlan and Miss. Bettie Trimble of this city, and Rev. T. P. Haley of Kansas City. The surprise and pleasure of such a greeting can be better imagined than described. Meantime, Mrs. Harmon's children who lived at a distance had been advised of the coming event, and they also gathered in--Jacob Harmon, wife and four sons, Robert Harmon, wife and son, Oscar Harmon, wife and son, John Harmon, wife and daughter, Ben Lee, wife and two daughters and one son, and John Hamilton, wife and daughter--besides Mr. Carver of New York, the bachelor uncle, Jacob, now eight-three years old, and the young bachelor, Walter. On Sunday, 12th, inst., Rev. Mr. Haley preached in the neighborhood, where there was a dinner on the sward, the Harmon family and connections constituting a goodly part of the congregation. It was a family reunion which only those can appreciate who have experienced something similar. It will long remain a green spot in the memory of those who took part in it.
