    2. Carey you might want to look you data over closer. Susan Frances Bagby names her son,, John Brackinridge Terrill. after her father. John Bagby I think they called him Brock Terrill. You would think it would be Brack Terrill. Not so, Im told I don't have a documented middle name for Susan's dau 1866 Jessie Terrill.,Nothing on her. But Susan's 2 older daughters married Botts who were brothers, John & Wm Botts/ Their mother was a Pope, Jane A Pope & Manley H. Botts Jane A Poe Father Lawrence & Susan Wilhoit Had a second dau, Emily Y that Married Sam Edwin Botts from Culpepper Co Va. "They inter mingled" Also you have Martha Alice (Hayden) Terrill daughter as Ruby Frances Terrill. Ouch, I have Ruby A, & wrote (Probably Alice as her mother) I'll red flag this & see if I can find a document. Ha, I'm not going to call Ruby at North Village. I think Nellie (Dameron) Bagby said Brock Terrill was first married to a Pope women I don't know anything about Angeline Wilkens & her claim to fame. I personally wouldn't claim I was related to Crazy John Brown. Ps I found an old land plat that gave the location of a couple Botts Farms. It's been along time sense I look at this line. The suggestion to replace Susan's headstone fell on death ears at Bagby reunion. James M Bagby I did not post this to list or cc it to anyone.... In a message dated 3/22/2006 3:09:39 P.M. 3. There are others on this list probably more learned in this than I, but I'm sure you are speaking of the Jan., l862 skirmish at Roan's Tanyard or what is elsewhere cited as the battle of Silver Creek. Confederates were under Col John Poindexter, the area's recruiter for the CSA, while the Yankees were under a Major from Fayette whose name escapes me at the moment, but for whom Higbee area yankee vets later named a camp of the Grand Army of the Republic. Dead from the skirmish, or at least Confederate dead, are said to have been buried at both the Bagby family graveyard which would have been just north of the battle site, and to the south in the yard of Ebenezer Church. The latter, sad to say, now has a home and outbuildings on the burial site. Again I assume this is what you are interested in....for more detail on the battle, etc., you might wish to contact Neil Block of Huntsville of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Col Poindexter is buried at Antioch Cem east of Mobe! rly, while the Union Maj is in the Fayette City Cem.

Who were the parents of Martha Alice Hayden? I also had relatives with ties to Magruders. For example, in 1854 John Thomas Magruder was wed to his second wife, my Ggg-aunt Nancy Hardin. Wish I could help you discover the parentage of Ruby Terrill’s husband David Thomas Magruder. Recently you mentioned a Popie Terrill. I’m wondering if this Popie might be one in the same as Jessie Pope Terrill (b. abt 1866) whose parents were William C. and Mary Susan (Bagby) Terrill. -- Ben --- Carey Bankhead <[email protected]> wrote: > Brack Terrill was the son of Wm. & Susan Bagby > Terrill; Wm was the son of James A. & Susan Cave > Terrill, etc. I've done quite a bit of work on the > Higbee area Magruders for Ron & Martha, children of > Ruby Terrill Magruder and will gladly share (not > that it is all my original work!) > > > ==== MORANDOL Mailing List ==== > Questions for the List Administrator? > Send them to Leslie at [email protected] > > __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 3. Wilma - well you have answered my question for me about "Grandpa Harris".......thank you! I haven't really worked on Iva and didn't rememeber that I saved an entry from the Higbee News until you asked. 25 Oct 1895--CLARK ITEMS--Las Bradley and Miss Iva Harris were married Wednesday by Eld. J. K. Robinson. Don't know why they have Emmett as "Las". His name was Ernest Emmett, but went by Emmett. I am fairly sure this is the right couple as the marriage date is just about right (some records say Oct 21st). Emmett was my great grandfather, James Hollis Bradley's older brother. Thank you for reminding me about assuming. I just assumed that the "Harris" had to do with Emmett's older sister, Agnes Jane Bradley, marrying Robert Harris. I will have to look into if the Harris' are from the same family. I have some info from a Harris relative. I will get back to you. I might also have Iva's obituary as my grandmother was famous for saving the clippings. I know that I have Emmetts birth and death place, but will have to go look them up. Probably born in Clark as that is where my great grandfather was born.
