Lawrence, I found this in the 1880 Census - Elm Twp. for Leroy and Nancy Roles/Rolls (that's how it's listed in the census) ROLES/ROLLS Leroy 28 farmer In/Oh/In Nancy 38 washing In/In/In Joseph W 6 Mo/Ia/In Samuel 4 Mo/Ia/In Thomas Albert 4 Mo/Ia/In SMITH Mary 17 step-dau Il/In/In On one side of them is William and Eliza Jane MAY and on the other side is James and Rachel MAY (w/11 more in the house) and next to them is Joseph and Matilda MAY and their 3 children. Something else, Leroy Rolls is also listed as a "guest" in the county jail along with A.M. BRANSCOM and Ellen DALYON with her 6 mo. old daughter.
