St. John, 21 Aug 1884 On Saturday, the 16th, while R.E. TORREY'S threshing machine was in operation near the residence of Judge Wm. A. ELLIS, George CALLISON, the Judges grandson, aged about 14 years attempted to get on the horse-power and fell under one of the levers, which passed over him, badly crushing him on the frame below. His injuries proved to be fatal for he died on Monday morning, the 18th, and was buried at Wyreka in the evening. The victim was making his home with Judge Ellis, his mother and father both being dead. Central City, 21 Aug 1884 S. METZ lost their youngest child which was buried at the Central City grave yard Monday. Martinstown, 28 Aug 1884 Died--on the 22nd of croup, the youngest child of John MCFARLAND, aged 11 months.
