Local 3 Mar 1887 We are called upon to chronicle the deaths of John C. and Dempsey, sons of William ODAM who resides in the northwestern part of this township. One of the young men died on Thursday evening and the other on Friday evening of pnuemonia and both were buried at the Dorsett Cemetery on Saturday. It is also reported they have a little daughter who is quite ill with the same disease but it is thought that she will recover. Martinstown, 10 Mar 1887 The infant child of Jesse TURNMIRE died on the 6th of pneumonia Chariton, 10 Mar 1887 Frank BROWNFIELD had two children to take the diptheria. Dr. EDSON was called; one of the children died, the other was not expected to live. However they sent and got some medicine prepared by Peter ROOP, which saved the child's life.
