14 Jul 1887 Mrs. COOK, wife of E.P. COOP, and mother of our townsman, D. L. Cook died at the old homestead in the northwest part of this township on Monday last after a lingering illness of several months duration. Although prostrated from the first, she gave no evidence of great bodily pain, and recognized all friends and neighbors who called. She was born on March 29, 1857, she came with her husband to this county, they locating on the farm on which they lived so long and happily together. The remains were interred in the Union Church cemetery, Tuesday.
