I am researching the Sulser family, who settled in Putnam County, Missouri in the 1860s. In 1861 my great-grandfather, John Sulser and his brother, Abraham Sulser deserted the Confederate Army in what is now West Virginia. They came to Missouri on horseback with little more than the clothes on their backs, dodging both the Union and Confederate armies on the way. In Putnam County, John Sulser married Dorcas Ann Demory, the widow of Thomas Pearson (died of measles while serving the Confederacy in Tennessee). John and Dorcas' children are: Henry Sulser Isaac Sulser William James Sulser Francis M. Sulser David Albert Sulser Julia Virginia Sulser Sarah Sulser Margaret Birdella Sulser (my grandmother) Addie Sulser Rebecca Sulser Phoebe Sulser Harley Sulser John's brother, Abraham Sulser, married Frances Jane Mills. Their children are: Martha Sulser Ida Sulser Rachel L. Sulser Mary E. Sulser Hattie J. Sulser Rosa C. Sulser George D. Sulser My grandmother, Margaret Birdella Sulser, married William Thomas Wymore in Putnam County in 1899. Their children are: Bessie Lee Wymore Edna Marie Wymore Edyth Wymore Jessie Jaine Wymore George William Wymore Finis Raymond Wymore Maxine Virginia Wymore Reta Pearl Wymore (my mother) I have a great deal of information on the Wymore family that I would be happy to share. I'd be glad for anything I could get on these two families, especially on the Sulsers. Thanks, Paula Miller Midland, TX pcmiller@apex2000.net
