Hi Marguerite, Gee, I know where San Dimas is. I'm in Santa Maria and go by there on my way to mom's (frequently). Anyway, I found nothing in the census or Cheek or Polly L. Thompson, the married daughter. But did find this in the estate records. CHEEK, Chadwick Will: written Feb. 1857 and Filed: 13 Apr 1857. Packet #158 Died 14 Feb 1857. Wife Mary Cheek, Children: Robert R. Cheek, Polly L. Thompson, Stephen R. Cheek, James A. Cheek and Spr-el Cheek. You can contact the court house in Unionville and ask them for a copy of the packet and it might possibly give you some clues.
