    3. You didn't mention what the first names of the family you are searching for. In 1860 there were - Joseph and Rebecca Landrine and Susana Thomas and Matilda 1870 - Landrine and Susana Abil and Sina Joseph living with the Caul family Thomas and Matilda 1880 - Able and Sinia Thomas and Matilda James and Sarah If you'd let me know which one you are looking for, will be glad to send the rest of the information from the Census. 2. Robert Whitsell
    3. Hi Rosalene, Here's what (little) I could find on Myers. And I tried to make sure to check all the other spellings too. As we all know, census takers didn't always spell names correctly. 1860 Census - Elm Twp. Jacob Myers, age 42 was a day laborer. Born in TN. He was living with Peter, Rachel, John, Peter and Eliza Minick. (And was Rachel a Pickering??) I couldn't find anything in 1870 and 1880. 1900 Census - Richland Twp. MEYER - Sophis 1845 54 Anna O 1854 46 Henry C 1873 26 Sophia C 1875 24 Agnes C 1883 16 Frannie C 1888 12 Frances C 1864` 35 It doesn't sound like anything you were looking for. If you think something in the 1900 census could be connected to your missing family, let me know and I can give you the rest of what the census says. But it showed them being born in Denmark, Germany, IA and MO. 2. I would like to know if there is anyone that could do Census lookups for 1890, 1900, 1910, and 1920. My Great Grandmother Valley Hazel FARRIS was born in Putnam County, MO on July 15, 1897. She was the daughter of Joe FARRIS and Ida GUFFY Farris. There are 10 other children: Gladys, Leola, Fairy, Loyd, Lem, Audrey, Connie, Francis, Noble, and Viola. If anyone finds this family, please email me. Thank you for any help in advance. Carrie S. Sims

    3. Hi everyone; I think its great of you Sandy to do the lookups. I'd like to suggest everyone send their requests in through the list if you don't mind and if you could reply through the list Sandy it just might help some one lurking. I'd enjoy seeing the queries myself. If its a problem then disregard my suggestion but I thought it might benefit some of us. I know this great group of people we have on this list is truly appreciative for the help. Happy Hunting all! I think it is in our family history center. It won't be open again until next week. I'll try to remember to check into the exact title for you. I copied the article and would be glad to mail it to you if you include your address. It is quite long. The title of the article is "Nineteenth-Century Hippie. He was a preacher and a lawyer. He had been a circuit-riding preacher in Virginia and chaplin of the US Senate in Washington before moving to IA in 1850. He lived at Mount Pleasant for a number of years. He moved his family and library of 4,000 books to Putnam Co., MO in 1871. The library & many valuable papers were destroyed by fire in 1876. He died in MO. in 1887 at the age of 65. There is also a picture of him. The reason I copied this article is because he served as the lawyer for my husband's great-grandmother's suit against her husband for adultery. I could also copy those papers for you. Hope this helps. Thank you. Let me know if it is at your FHC. Everything I read shows him to be quite a character. I have some dates for him, but I am trying research his roots with that hope they might give clues to my ancestor, Nancy Dean. Thanks again. Glo

    3. I am looking for information about Henry Clay Dean who died in Putnam Co in 1887. He came there about 1871. He is said to be a "relative" of my ancestor Nancy Dean who married James Porter. They lived in MD and Kent Co, DE. Since he was a noted person, I hope there is some kind of genealogy or biographical write up for him which might shed light on my Nancy's family origins. I understand there is a "Dean Family" book in the Putnam Co Library. If anyone has any ideas for my search, I would appreciate it. So far I have mostly antidotal info which paints a rebel picture for HC Dean... quite a character. Thanks ahead... Glo Wellman Santa Rosa, CA
