    3. This fatal accident was reported in a Unionville, MO newspaper. The date of issue is listed on top line, the death information follows. Local, 20 Aug 1890 A fatal accident occurred at Mendota Saturday in the forenoon. Fred O'CONNOR'S little son Marble, aged about 5 years and two other boys were playing on and near a flat car on the side track. The little O'Conner boy was sitting on the track near the car and the other boys were on the car. One of them loosened the brake and as the car was standing on a grade, it ran toward the boy who did not know what danger he was in and did not move. One arm and one leg were crushed off and after 18 hours death relieved the little fellow of his untold misery and pain. The remains were brought to this city, Monday and buried in the Catholic cemetery.

    3. These are deaths listed in the August 13, 1890 issue of a Unionville, MO newspaper. 13 Aug 1890, Obituary Central City, Aug. 7, 1890. Died--August 4, 1890, Hollie oldest son of David and Alice TOMPKINS, aged eight years, eleven months, and fifteen days, after an illness of five months. He complained but very little. The remains were buried at West Liberty cemetery and the funeral discourse was conducted by Elder SMITH of Unionville. 13 Aug 1890, Obituary Martinstown, Mo., Aug. 10, 1890. Another good old soul has gone to rest. Abigail SNEDIGAR died Thursday morning, August 7. Francis and grandma Snedigar were among the old settlers of Putnam County coming here in the year 1854 or 1855. They moved from Pike or Ralls county, Mo., and lived on the same farm until four years ago last June, when Mr. Snedigar departed this life. Grandma Snedigar then broke up housekeeping and has since lived with her children in Elm township. She had fair health til two years ago when she came afflicted with a cancer on her face with was the cause of her death. He was born January 3, 1811 and she September 30, 1813 in the state of Kentucky. The following children live in elm township. James William, and George Snedigar, Mary J. wife of John STEENE, Susan F. wife of Richard BRANSCOMB, Gelina, wife of Marion WEST. The deceased are of good family and the writer has known them for several years. If either of them had a enemy we never heard of it. T. J. TAYLOR
