    1. Look Ups in Census
    2. I promised myself I would wait until October when I go to Unionville and look these up myself, but now found that my time frame there will be rather short for going to the library. Would you check the census records for Nugent (sometimes spelled Neugent or Newgent). I think I have Jacob there in 1870, but believe there was a James and a Richard also. I didn't check other records then due to lack of time. Thanks -- Judy Johnson

    3. Catherine, I checked under the names you sent. Orin D. Gray, Isabelle Richmond Rob(b)ins Wilcox Quinnette. There was nothing at all under an Orin D. Gray, not even as a child. And here's the only listing I could find showing all the different surnames for Isabelle. 1900 Census - Elm Twp. ROBBINS - Isabel head feb 1872 28 W 6-5 Mo/Mo/Mo Nancy C dau aug 1887 12 (all children Rollie O son feb 1890 10 are listed Charles E son feb 1892 8 as Mo/Mo/Mo) Jesse H son feb 1894 6 Eva A dau jul 1897 2 Hope that's some help. 3. Sandy, Thank you for looking for me. Could you give me the info for Elijah and Palina Burkhart. I have had a very hard time tracking down my gggrandfather Arthur Keiran. All I know about him is that he appeared in Sullivan County in 1880, married my gggrandmother Mary Waldon and then shot himself in 1906 or 1909. Family history has it that his parents came from Ireland under his mother's maiden name because his father was avoiding forced military service. My grandmother, who is 90 yrs old, said that they wouldn't talk about their life before coming here. Arthur was supposed to have been born in IL in the 1860's and was supposely named after his father. Don't you just love those ancestors that didn't want to leave a trail? Again thank you so much for your help. Mary "Robert Whitsell" <sandyw@thegrid.net> wrote: Hi Mary, Didn't find too much checking the different spellings of both the names. 1. Minicks Accident
    2. Linda M. Nixon
    3. This death was published in a Unionville newspaper in the February 18, 1891 issue. I have typed it as it was printed, though I doubt the name below, "Ki" is the full name. It could be a number of names but this was how it was in the newspaper. 18 Feb 1891 A deplorable accident occurred at Ki MINICK'S in Elm Township Saturday last. His son and daughter, both small children, went to the barn and as they entered the door a horse kicked them at the time it was thought the boy would not recover from the blow received. It is also said that the girl did not get as much attention at that moment as the boy, as the parents were unaware she was injured in the least. It proved later, however, that she had received fatal injuries as she died in a few hours afterward.

    3. Dear Judy: Sandra Boehme is the daughter of Carl "Cy" and Katherine Rose Smith. Katherine's parents were Hugh Nelson and Mae Rose. Nelson was one of Enoch Rose's sons. I'm sure you can figure the relationship out from there. I am one of the officers of the Rose Cemetery and we are all very greatful to Sandy for her contribution of the pictures of Benjamin and Enoch's family to the Cemetery. I thought she lived in Lucerne. That is where she was the last I heard. Perhaps she has moved. I have all of the burials that I know of in the cemetery. All of the marked graves and what I have been able to find on the unmarked ones. Do you have any information on anybody who is buried there whose grave may not be marked or the stone has weathered away so it can't be read? I would appreciate what you may have. I will be glad to share what I have with you. I am trying to get a list of all of the people buried there, and I know I am missing some, particularly the older graves - like before 1900. John E. We took pictures which I will post when I get them scanned. At the cemetery in one of the buildings was a picture of Benjamin Rose b 1808 and d 1888. It had been donated by Sandy (Smith) Boehme in 1993 from Lucerne, MO. We tried to find her at Lucerne but no one knew who she was. Does anyone have any information on who she is. I am sure she is from Benjmain Rose's second family with Elizabeth Ann Robbins as there was also a picture of Enoch Rose's family. I am from his first family with Sarah Ann Holman. His daughter Susannah Martha Rose was my great grandmother. Any information on these people would be appreciated. If you want a copy of the cemetery pictures, feel free to email me. Thank you. 3. Connie: You asked about James and Sabra Davis of Putnam County. They were natives of Clinton County, Kentucky. James was the son of John and Mourning (Guffey) Davis. Sabra I believe was a Hamilton. She was James' second wife. His first wife was Jennie Hopkins. She apparently died in Kentucky. My 3rd great grandparents were Dennis and Sarah (Davis) Hopkins, and they were the brother and sister of Jennie and James. The Davis', Jones', Hopkins', Guffey's and other families of the Hartford-Unionville area all came from the Wayne-Clinton County area of Kentucky and all seem to be related. You will find many of them buried in the Thompson and Pherigo Cemeteries plus many others in the area. A very good source on these families is "Early times in Clinton County" by Jack Ferguson. Many Genealogical libraries have it. John E. Sparks connie mincy wrote: > Sandy > Do you have any records for a James or Sabra Davis of Putnam County? > Connie >
