Linda and all, Epperson Cemetery is the old name for the now Thompson Cemetery. Thorn Cemetery is now the name for the Stockton Cemetery. I have a map showing location of the 50 different cemeteries in and around Unionville and all of Putnam County. Found it worth gold while I was cemetery hunting back there. Judy; I'm afraid you've been misinformed. There are records for St. Johns cemetery in Livonia. I have a copy and have checked and no there is not a William but --its possible hes buried there and for one reason or another the grave is no longer marked. There are several McClellans buried there and of course your Evan is buried there. Know this doesn't help you much but at least you know theres no listing for him there. Good luck, Linda Hello, I am looking for info on a william mcclellans death in Putnam Co. Would be in the 1860-70. in Livonia. My family came to Putnam Co. in 1864, from Scotland co.,MO. and from IN.to there. My gggrandfather Evan is buried in the St john Cematary in Livonia, but I can find no record of Willliam, his father. I've been told that the records for St John Cematary have been lost. Earl Mcclellan of Unionville was my Greeat. Uncle. My Parent are Carl and Geneva (Snedigar) McClellan. Judy McClellan Cross

Dan: I may have some help for you. I found a James Edgar Branscomb, born 29 Nov. 1889 in Putnam County, MO and died 16 Dec. 1946. He had 2 sons, Edgar Samuel and Delbert Basil and a daughter Ruby Stewart. He is buried in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Iowa which is just across the state line from Missouri and many People with Putnam County roots are buried there. He was buried by his first wife Edith Bessie Eppley who died 12 December 1916. His daughter was by his 2nd wife Bessie Blanche Parcel. Could he be your grandfather? The Branscombs in Putnam County go back to Henry (ca 1804-1865) and Elizabeth Burris (1811-1898). They came to Macon County, MO from Wayne County, KY around 1840 and went to Putnam County in the early 1860's. There were several families that followed the same route. I am descended from a daughter Charlotte who married William Vestal. There was also a son Asa M. who is probably the A.M. you asked about. He was born about 1840. If you think I am on the right track, let me know and I have more info I can share with you. John E. I checked the cemetery records of Mendota; Rose; St. Johns in Grant township; NO James Branscomb buried in those cemeteries though there is a Branscomb buried at the Rose. I looked at St. Johns because that cemetery is closest to Livonia and checked Rose because thats in Graysville or close to it. Not having any luck with the cemeteries I checked the Unionville Index records and there was no listing for anyone close to what was inquired about for the year 1947 or any year close to that. So afraid I'm not much help either. Good Luck though. Unionville has lots of good records and maybe you can find something there. Hi Dan, I'm afraid I won't be any help with where any one is buried in Putnam County. I have just copied sheets of some of the cemetery records that I obtained while in Missouri, but I live in California. I did look thru the pages I have and show a James Ambrose Branscomb buried in Pleasant Home Cemetery. But he was born in 1867 and died in 1932, so doubt that's your James/Jim Branscomb. Also show Edgar born 1912 and buried 1967 and a J.D. Branscomb, no dates. I only have those because I of my ancestors on the same pages. I'll check the census reports later today and see if I can find anything on Jim B. Branscomb or who A.M. Branscom was. No, the census doesn't show charges, nor length of stay, etc. Altho you could probably check with the library in Unionville and see if they have anything in the newspaper there around that date showing what he might have done to have been incarcerated. I found it odd that 2 men and 1 woman with her 6 month old child would be in jail at the same time. I know they had separate cells, but to my knowledge, there were just bars between the different cells. I would imagine that the baby was with the mother to be fed? Wonder what kind of special arrangements would have been made for her? I also found it odd that the wife listed him on the census while the jail did also. And my gg grandparents were listed in 2 different counties that year. I can't help you with where she's buried. Possibly someone else has the cemetery records and can provide that information. That's one of the set of books I'm hoping to get next. Good luck in finding the information. Oh, the library should also be able to tell you what library. And someone sent me a new cemetery site today.. I'll forward it to the list. You can search by state.
