Burgess, was born in 1834 in Monroe county, Missouri and died at her home in Crocker, October 30, 1916, at the age of 82 years. Sister Burgess was converted in 1858 and united with the Free will Baptist Church. She lived a consistent Christian life, always meek and humble and doing good to others. The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon. Short services were conducted at the graveside in the Crocker cemetery by Bro. B. F. Dill. Published in The Crocker News, Pulaski County, Missouri on Thursday, November 2, 1918.
