She was married to Martin Nelson October 3, 1867, and to this union seven children were born, five of whom survive her; two sons and three daughters: Charles W. and Lawrence S., of Crocker; Mrs. M. F. Anderson, of near Crocker; Mrs. Mary V. Jury, of Cushing, Oklahoma, and Miss Nora Nelson, of Crocker. Shortly after her marriage she and her husband moved to Miller county, Missouri, where they lived until about twelve years ago, when they moved to Crocker to make their home. Mr. Nelson died in 1912. Mrs. Nelson united with the Disciples Church at Kenton, O., while quite young. After moving to Miller county, this state, she affiliated with the Congregational Church and since coming to Crocker has been a member of the Presbyterian Church. She was a life long Christian and a true follower of the lowly Nazarene. She leaves, besides her children, many friends in this community who sincerely mourn her death. Funeral services were held at the Nelson home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. G. F. Bell was in charge. Interment was made in the Crocker cemetery. Published in The Crocker News, Pulaski County, Missouri on Thursday, December 7, 1916.
