Peterson, a veteran of the Civil War, died at the Soldier’s Home at St. James last Friday morning. Funeral services and interment took place at Stoutland on Saturday. His death was due to old age and the effect of an operation that was performed upon him on Tuesday of last week, when he had a leg amputated. Rev. Peterson was about eighty six years old and was well and favorably known in this county. Several members of the local Odd Fellow lodge, of which he was a member, attend the funeral service.
