Green was born May 27, 1843 in Illinois, and passed away at his home in Bloodland, Mo. He came to Missouri with his parents at an early age. He endured the pioneer hardships and saw the country grow into a garden spot. He was united in marriage, August 2nd, 1870 to Susan Gillis and after nearly one half century of married life he met death peacefully and quietly. He united with the Methodist church in 1879. During his illness, the pastor of the Bloodland church visited him and, Uncle Johnny, as he was affectionately called, seemed to enjoy the time, and frequently expressed himself as being ready to depart, and be with the Lord. Services were held at the house and also at the grave by Rev. F. C. Tyler of Dixon. The body was laid to rest in the old Clark cemetery. Published in The Crocker News, Pulaski County, Missouri on Thursday, January 21, 1915.
