At an early age he united with the Presbyterian church at Murrysville, Pa., and during the 35 years of his membership in that church he served as trustee, elder, and Sunday School Superintendent. About six and one half years ago with his family he moved to Crocker from Oklahoma, where he had gone in search of health for his daughter. Coming in our midst a stranger he soon identified himself with the Christian faith (?) of the town and placed his letter (?) in the Presbyterian church. Here he served as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher. He will be greatly missed not only in the Presbyterian church, but also in the town and community. He leaves his wife, three sons, one daughter, and one brother besides a host of relatives and friends to mourn his loss. We extend to the family our sympathy in this their hour of sorrow. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant enter thou in the joy of thy Lord." Pastor Published in The Crocker News, Pulaski County, Missouri on Thursday, February 14, 1918.
