At about the same time as the Monroe Hale of Dexter,MO there was also a Monroe Hale of Sparta,MO. In 1839, in Miller CO., Reuben Hale,(b1802 Tennessee) who was the first of the Sparta Hale family, married Martha Taylor in Miller County--not too far from Dexter.
