Sneeds of Hamilton county, Illinois. On the 1840 Hamilton Co. census, James Sneed (b c1810-1820) was listed with a wife (b 1810-1820), one male child and one female child, both born c1835-1840. He was the only James Sneed listed on this census. They were not on the 1850 census. The 1860 Hamilton co. census shows: 335-335 SNEED,James M. 45 KY(b. 1815) Elizabeth 40 TN(b 1820) Malinda J. 20 IL (b 1840) Moses M. 14 IL (b 1846) SIMONS,William R. 14 AR(b 1846) Sarah A. 12 AR Martha E. 11 (or 10) AR Henry 9 AR Azariah 7 AR Owen F. 5 AR John R. 2 IL "The oldest son (and twin of Malinda?), James M. Sneed, Jr. (born abt 1840, IL) was living with his wife Matilda Miller (married 23 July 1859 in Hamilton Co.) and her family." Married 2) Elizabeth (Maiden Name Unknown) Simons probably in Arkansas.
