She spent all of her life in Pulaski County and was a member of the Buckhorn Christian Church. She was married to James Woodrow Hendrix on June 14, 1896. From this union were born six children: Florence, Ralph, Imo, Alma, Melvin and Herbert. Her husband and three children having preceded her in death, she leaves to mourn her passing three children: Alma Gladden of Steelville, MO, Melvin and Herbert Hendrix of Richland, MO; three sisters: Mollie Hess of Oklahoma, Mae Curtis of Arkansas and Nora Mitchell of Waynesville; fourteen grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 14, 1970 at 2 p.m. at the Moss-Williams Chapel in Waynesville, MO, with Rev. Virgil Manes officiating.
