I have reason to believe that a prior location for Idumea Church was on the section line between sec. 14 and sec. 23, about 0.5 miles south, and a little west, of the current church and cemetery. This could be simply a misplaced location for the church, but I don't think so. This lies on a dirt track to a homestead today, in this location: http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=37.75639&lon=-92.32222&datum=NAD27&s=24&size=l Mike > Subject: Re: Iduema Cemetery Picture wanted > Date: 11 Jun 2004 07:41:58 -0600 > From: kencarlson@paltalk.com > To: MOPULASK-L@rootsweb.com > > Just a bit of info on the cemetery. It is built behind Idumea Baptist Church, located near Laquey, Pulaski co., MO. The original church was built by Cyrus Parsons in the late 1870's on his farmland. The some of the first people buried in the cemetery were his wife and children, who died of Typhoid fever before the turn of the century, and eventually he himself was buried there. He deeded the land of the church and cemetery over to the church itself, so it was no longer his property. The orignal church burned down in 1932 in a forest fire. It was rebuilt in 1933. The current pastor of this chuch is Pastor Danny Graves, I believe.
