My dad and his cousin, Robert, and their aunt ( she's 93) are very familiar (she having lived there) with the Duke and Big Piney area of Missouri. Just this evening we were talking about the McCourtney land that became part of Fort Leonard Wood. We are from the James McCourtney in the other family listed in the 1860 census. I remember seeing some Wilsons listed in Robert's research. I believe that Nancy McCourtney is the daughter of Alexander McCourtney Jr and one of the Ball sisters. His brother, William R. McCourtney, was the father of the aforementioned James McCourtney. My great aunts are old (94 and 90) but they have great memories. They lived in Duke, MO in the 1920's. We had relatives living there in the 1980's. Contact me if you think that we might be of help.
