Carol, Sarah Carmack was the daughter of John Carmack of Bledsoe Co., TN. She married Thomas Riddle abt 1828 in Bledsoe County. Thomas was accidently killed by the discharge of his gun while hunting, in 1835. The gun was leaning against a tree and it was knocked down by his dog, and the lock sprung. ("History of the Ancient Ryedales" by G. T. Ridlon, 1884). Sarah married a second time to James Sutherland in Pulaski Co., MO. She was the sister of William Carmack, Lewis Carmack (both of Pulaski Co) and Jesse Carmack who received a land grant for service in the Indian Wars and took up land in Texas. He died in Caldwell, Burleson Co., Texas. Are you a Carmack descendant?
