    1. RE: [MOPULASK] Big Piney Cemetery

    3. Hi Wayne, If the road to Big Piney is not paved, does that mean that it does not have a name of number? My great grandparents Richard and Julia Kelly Miller are buried there, but I always have a hard time finding the cemetery. Do you know where Palace Church and Cemetery is located? Okay is the road going to Big Piney across from the Palace Church? My parents are buried in the Palace Cemetery, so I know that area. Also do you know the directions to the O'Malley Cemetery? My great grandparents John and Johanna Hogan Haley are buried there. Thanks Janette Haley Conaway -----Original Message----- From: Wayne Carroll [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, July 27, 2001 2:11 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [MOPULASK] Big Piney Cemetery The Big Piney Cemetery is located across the road from the Hopewell Church, which is just a short distance from what used to be Big Piney. I was born in Big Piney, Pulaski County, Missouri in 1941 and have fond memories of it. However, the last time that I was able to visit that area, nothing much was left of the town but the church is still in use. Big Piney is located out of the south gate of Fort Leonard Wood and still does not have a paved road. The pavement ends just south of what used to be the town. Many years ago the township of Piney was thriving with a blacksmith shop, three stores all operated by relatives of mine. The largest store contained the post office and across the street from there was the Big Piney Hotel. One store build might be left but is not a store anymore.
