James & Oma are first found in Pulaski Co. census records in 1880 ( I am assuming you have this info and have estimated the dates based on the childrens ages???) Living a couple of houses away is the family of Jacob Henry Garron Logan...in 1900 census Walker B. Lane is living in his household and listed as a servant. On a volume of the FTM disks one of the trees makes brief mention that Walker & his twin brother Robert were adopted by this Logan family. There is no furter info on Walker or Robert other than this note. I can tell you that according to tombstone inscriptions that Walker kept the last name of Lane. I do find a James L. Lane and wife Virginia "Jennie" Shackelford in the 1900 & 1910 census records. Not sure if this is your James L. but the birthplace of both parents is listed as IL ??? 1900 Federal Census Pulaski Co., Missouri Union Township 199 LANE, James L...age 30...MO...IL..IL/ ...Jennie...age 30...MO...MO...MO/ ...Elmer L...age 7...MO/ ...Pryor E...age 4...MO/ ...Floyd S. ?...age 1...MO 1910 Federal Census Pulaski Co., Missouri Union Township 61-61.....Farmer LANE, James L...head...age 40...m. 1x for 20 yrs...MO..MO...MO/ ...Jennie...wife...age 40...mother of 7 (all living)...MO..MO...MO/ ...Elmer...son...age 17...MO/ ...Eddie...son...age 14...MO/ ...Floid...son...age 11...MO/ ...Minnie...dau...age 8...MO/ ...Ada...dau...age 5...MO/ ...Vada...dau...age 5...MO/ ...Clyde...son...age 14 months...MO James L. Lane & Jennie Shackelford married: 30 Jan 1890 probably Phelps Co., MO PISGAH CEMETERY Located off Hwy D near Dixon, MO...it is the oldest cemetery in the county. James L. Lane 7 Jan 1868 - 19 Feb 1944 Virginia E. Lane 13 Aug 1869 - 12 Feb 1944 They share one stone. (Other Lane's in this cemetery include: Clyde, Edmond M., Flora E., John Emerson, Mary R. w/o Edmond.) LAUGHLIN CEMETERY an old family cemetery on Ft. Leonard Wood Walker B. Lane 26 Aug 1876 - 9 Apr 1908 (Other surnames in this cemetery include: Anderson, Ballard, Hamilton, Laughlin, Long, Mitchell, Piper & Vaughn.)
