Yes, this is him. Thanks. I had someone forward me the information and someone was kind enough to look at the library and emailed his obituary. Then I found out his wife, Lucylle, passed away in Springfield and I emailed the Springfield library yesterday morning and late yesterday afternoon, they emailed it to me. I am so thankful for all of you helping me. Thank you, Kathy and Happy Holidays. At about the same time as the Monroe Hale of Dexter,MO there was also a Monroe Hale of Sparta,MO. In 1839, in Miller CO., Reuben Hale,(b1802 Tennessee) who was the first of the Sparta Hale family, married Martha Taylor in Miller County--not too far from Dexter. This may all be coincidence, but I was hoping that they were all somehow related. thanks and merry Christmas......brian in springfield,MO

I was looking for help with the Hale family. The Hale family in Dexter was there for quite awhile and then some of them moved to the Springfield MO area in the 1920's. There was already a Hale family here in Springfield and I was trying to find out if they were related. Reuben Hale came to MO(from Tennessee) in the 1830's and married Martha (Weaver) Taylor in 1839 in Miller CO and then they settled down in the Sparta area just south of Springfield MO. I was hoping that the Hale family in the Springfield area was related to the Hale family near Dexter. I hope that you can help--I keep running into brickwalls----thanks for your help. brian in springfield mo

I believe. Perhaps they were born in the early 1920's or so. Thomas Lewis passed away, maybe 1970's, and Lucille passed away from late 1980's to early 1990's. They were stationed in Ft. Myers, Va. in the 1960's and had 3 children. Their children are Patricia (Patty), Thomas, and Sandra all of Missouri, perhaps Springfield and St. Louis. Thank you in advance, Charlene.

Surnames: Starr, Whitson, Yandell Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/UNB.2ACI/601.1 Message Board Post: You are talking about the same Starr family that I am related to. I understand that David A. Starr, Sr. lived with David A. Starr, Jr. and his wife Rebecca Yandell back in Arkansas in Scott County in the 1880's. My grandmother would tell me stories about him (David Starr, Jr.). He was a farmer. I assume that David Starr, Sr. was a farmer too. I am desperately trying to find David Starr, Sr.'s lineage. I know from stories from my grandmother that we are definitely related to Sam Starr of Belle Starr fame. She remembers stories of him in the family. She also remembers that when the census came along they didn't want to go to be registered as they felt it was the sign of Satan to be given a number. I don't know who registered.
