Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/UNB.2ACI/981.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Yes, I know none of the Trower's are listed, save two: Mary and Leroy. That is because they have nothing but rocks for their "stones". We are in the process of having some small stones placed on their graves. One of the earliest obituaries I found for the cemetery lists it as a family cemetery for the parsons family, even before Rebecca Trower passed away. I have looked at the book and asked the librarians <most of them are not from around here, but usually come from the Fort area>. and they didn't have a clue about it. I know part of richland is in the tri-county area <pulaski, camden, laclede>, however ,if it were near Laquey, as the obit said, it would be in Pulaski as they is close to Waynesville, the county seat of Pulaski county. Of course, I just went to another cemetery that was supposed to be "in richland" and it was 12 miles out on highway A, then C, then a dirt road that I'm almost positive put me into Camden county for sure. I don't know how a cemetery 12 miles o! ut of Richland, was "in richland", but at least I found it finally. Ken

    3. I have reason to believe that a prior location for Idumea Church was on the section line between sec. 14 and sec. 23, about 0.5 miles south, and a little west, of the current church and cemetery. This could be simply a misplaced location for the church, but I don't think so. This lies on a dirt track to a homestead today, in this location: http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=37.75639&lon=-92.32222&datum=NAD27&s=24&size=l Mike > Subject: Re: Iduema Cemetery Picture wanted > Date: 11 Jun 2004 07:41:58 -0600 > From: kencarlson@paltalk.com > To: MOPULASK-L@rootsweb.com > > Just a bit of info on the cemetery. It is built behind Idumea Baptist Church, located near Laquey, Pulaski co., MO. The original church was built by Cyrus Parsons in the late 1870's on his farmland. The some of the first people buried in the cemetery were his wife and children, who died of Typhoid fever before the turn of the century, and eventually he himself was buried there. He deeded the land of the church and cemetery over to the church itself, so it was no longer his property. The orignal church burned down in 1932 in a forest fire. It was rebuilt in 1933. The current pastor of this chuch is Pastor Danny Graves, I believe.

For that matter, I didn't find John and his other wife listed either. That doesn't mean they aren't buried there, it just means that they don't have a headstone. I do have a thought on the Ervin cemetery though. Rebecca's obit was in the Richland Mirror newspaper, and part of Richland is in another county, so it is possible that Ervin cemetery is in Camden county. I do not have access to Camden county research books, so I can't checked that for you. However, I can call the library at Richland and see if the librarian has ever heard of Ervin Cemetery. Mary

She was born June 24, 1888 to George W. and Sarah Carter. She was married to John Lemuel trower april 15, 1909. She passed away Feb. 15, 1917 and it says: "The body was laid to rest in the Ervin Cemetery". I know john Lemuel, and his first and third wife are all buried in the Parson's cemetery right by the Laquey school. There is another grave between john lemuel and his first wife, and I "thought" that could have been Rebecca. Someone told me they thought the Parson's cemetery used to be the Ervin, but there is only one Ervin buried there, and i have an obituary for one of the parsons buried there before Rebecca, listign it as his family cemetery on his land, so it would have been known as the Parson's cemetery even then, and not the Ervin. I really don't know. I'm really curious because john lemuel trower's mother was a Ervin. She is buried in Parsons, but didn't know about parents or siblings. I'm definately interested in finding o! ut.

However, it is possible that the cemetery's name has changed sometime over the years. So if you will give me the name of the person that is suppose to be buried in Ervin Cemetery, I will do some checking and get back with you. Mary Case

She has stage four liver cancer, and they said the chemo isn't working very good any more...still getting worse. We keep praying she'll get better. have you ever been to your grandmothers cemetery? Lottie is buried in Parsons cemetery, in Laquey, MO. I've done a transcription of the cemetery on www.internment.net Her grave is currently marked with a fieldstone. I've been in contact with someone who is able to help me place a small stone on the graves relatively cheap. so, within a few months it will be finally marked. Ken
