I will check with him and see if he has found a headstone for your James M. Wilson. The last time I spoke with him, cattle had knocked down the fence again and some of the headstones as well. He has found lots of just stone markers with no names or dates, so it is possible that one of those is James Wilson's. But I will see if I can find something out for you. And no, the library doesn't have a list of those names that are on the headstone's that they have found yet. He is probably waiting until they are done. Mary

Maybe you can help me. Can you tell me where you got the info. on John Foster? It seems there is many more graves now unearthed than the original 14. I have been following a site that reports the renovation of the cemetery by some school kids there in Waynesville. Last that they wrote they had found more than 50 graves. But their diary ended without listing the names on the headstones that they unearthed. If you go to the following link, it gives timelines and lots of pictures of the renovation. http://www.fidnet.com/~bigpiney/Cemetery/Timeline.html Diaries said that the kids were recording the names of the buried, but did not give a list. Is there a librairy near you where they could tell you what school did this work and where to get copy of list? My GGGrandfather married into the McCortney family. He was James M. Wilson. There were alot of Wilson's living in Big Piney with the McCortneys. I haven't been able to find his burial site anywhere, and feel sure that this is where I will finally find him. He was killed by a bushwacker sometime between 1861 and 1866. Any clues that you can give me pertaining to this graveyard would be immenesly appreciated!

    3. Richard Poston, from Overton Co., Tennessee, died on Jan. 30, 1843 in Pulaski County, Missouri. I am searching for his obit notice, or children of Richard. I need to prove that he had a daughter named Elisibeth Poston who married James Pierce Phillips in Overton or Jackson Co., TN. Would there be wills available for this period of time in MO., or newspapers for his obit. His wife was Amelia Elisabeth Copeland Poston who died after 1860 in Overton Co., TN. Thanks for any help or advice you may give me. Mary Rose Poston Bond

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/UNB.2ACI/990.1 Message Board Post: Anita, In the "Tombstone Inscription of Pulaksi County" book I found where I think your Warren's are buried. The name of the cemetery is "Warren-McCortney" cemetery. In this book it says that Robert's headstone says: "Robert Warren 15 Nov 1849 -21 Aug 1909, b. in Overton Co., TN". Nancy's headstone says: "Nancy J. Warren, 13 Mar 1851 - 25 Dec 1915, wife of Robert". Unfortunately, I was only able to locate a year of 1868 that they were married. HOWEVER, I found something else about Robert. He was married first to Nancy's sister Virginia E. and when she died Robert married Nancy. Virginia is also buried in the same cemetery and her stone says: "Virginia E. Warren, 9 Dec 1848 - 12 Nov 1875, Wife of R." He had 5 children with Virginia and 6 with Nancy. This information came from an obituary that the Historical Society put into the "History of Pulaski County, Part 2" book. A couple of the dates don't match exactly, but it is the same person. If you want a copy of this, please get in contact with me at marysdandy@yahoo.com and give me your snail mail address. Mary

I have an extraction of the 1910 census for Pulaski county. In it, in the Piney township, I didn't find Robert of course as he died in 1909, but I found his wife Nancy J. age 58, widowed, had six children with 5 living, she was born in AR, her father in TN, and her mother in MO. Living with her was a step-daughter Mary, age 42 and single, a daugher Lilda B., age 21 and single, Flossie P. age 11, and Edwin age 4. It doesn't say what relation Flosse and Edwin are to Nancy. Also the next family is probably one of her sons, Lora Warren. That is what it says, Lora. He is married and her name is Dollie and they have a daughter, Laverne. And a couple of houses before Nancy is probably another son, Jesse, along with his wife Leona and their children, Ivy, Nannie, Robert, and Blanche. And while digging, I found the name of the one of Robert and Nancy other children. He only lived a few months. He is buried in the same cemetery and his headstone reads: "Lewis E. Warren, 21 Mar 1881 - 3 Sep 1881, Son of R. and N.J." Hope some of this helps. Mary

Nancy is listed in 1860-70 census with Elijah and Matilda Barnett. 1880 Spring Creek, Phelps County, Mo. lists Matilda F. (Frances) age 19 born in Ar as a servant in the home of Thomas Kepler. Living next door is Sarah and Jacob Brooks. This confirms that they are the same Jacob and Sarah.
