Is there anyone out there with ties to the GATEWOOD family line? Mine specifically is William F Gatewood. He came to MO from IL. Ive got a lot more information if anyone is interested, but I was wondering if there were cemetery books published for Shannon & PUlaski Counties? If there is, would someone mind looking if they have them to see if WILLIAM & LOUISA GATEWOOD is found? I was also wondering if there are any HAMONICK/HAMMICK/HAMMOCK researchers out there. Hester Gatewood had a son that had this last hame until she remarried and he took on his steopfather's last name.

I did make a note that there is an obituary for William Henry Burgess b. 8/29/1841 in Gasconade Co., MO. His obituary appears in The Crocker News on Thursday, 1/24/1918 and is quite lengthy if remember correctly. You can contact The State Historical Society of Missouri for a copy of his obit. http://www.umsystem.edu/shs/newspaper.html Shirley

Nope. I couldn't hardly find anything on the web on this company. It is defunct now - I do know that. Did they by chance own the land along the railroad east of Newburg? Probably that and more if they owned 95,000 acres. I am researching parents of Elizabeth Grisham. Simeon and Thomas Grisham from Tennessee appear in the Pulaski County, MO census in 1840 and 1850. Simeon may have been married to Sara Porter. In addition to Elizabeth, they may have had a son named Prior. THank you for any assistance. Joan Howe
