Posted on: Pulaski Co MO Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mo/Pulaski/10764 Surname: CHAMBERS ------------------------- Hi, I would love to hear from anyone who might be able to help me find out some information from the 1840 Pulaski County, Missouri census. I have been frustrated in my CHAMBERS research, but this might just be the key to unlock the door. JACOB CHAMBERS is listed head of house with no children. JAMES CHAMBERS. JAMES is listed as head of house with children who match in ages to my WRIGHT COUNTY, MISSOURI CHAMBERS orphans on the 1850 census: GEORGE W. CHAMBERS, is age 21 on the 1850 census and he married Zelphia Lunsford. He was killed in the Civil War and is buried beside Zelphia in the Lunsford Cemetery. In 1850, he was living in the Lunsford house. WILLIAM SINGLETON CHAMBERS, age 18 on the 1850 census. He married Mrs. Delcina Weaver of Wright County. He also died in the Civil War. There were children due to his marriage. In 1850, he was living in the Julius Huff house. ELIZABETH was 13/14 on the 1850 census and living in the william Franklin house. It is unknown what happened to her. JACOB BENNETT was 13/14 on the 1850 census. He married first to Amanda White and then to Elizabeth Stacey. They had a child in 1871: Andrew Jackson Chambers who was raised by his maternal grandmother, Catherine Kelly Stacy in Newton county, Arkansas. If these children are the offspring of the Pulaski county, Missouri JACOB CHAMBERS... then there should be one other female child. Please email me if you might have information leading to the identity of these people and I will be just overjoyed to hear from you. Thanks, Polly

James Chambers is listed as head of household with several children. Can anyone tell me the names of the children and who the wife of James was. Also on the same census is a young man named Jacob Chambers. Who were these people? Thank you, Polly Murphy
Posted on: Pulaski Co MO Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mo/Pulaski/10762 Surname: power, short, jones, sturgeon, washburn, bash, brasch ------------------------- I am trying to find information on my great-grandmother who was Pearl Power. She was born in Pulaski County in approx 1892?. All I know about her parents is that her father's last name was Power and her mother's maiden name was Short. At some point, Pearl married my great grandfather James Sturgeon. I am not for sure, but I believe they may have been married in Pulaski County. They eventually moved to Cherokee County KS. Pearl had at least 2 sister's: Mae and Virginia. And one brother, Olive Raymond. (This is sketchy info at best, as no one seems to know much about their families.) If anyone has any information, it would be greatly appreciated.
John Byerly, 1850-1860 in PA, and Mary Griffith, born about 1873 in MO, were married 2-17-1897 in Dent Co. MO. They were in Cuba MO (spelled Barley) in 1910 with the following children: Louisa or Laura M. age 11 Albert age 10 Mary J. age 4 M____? age 2 Bessie age ?/12 I believe they may have lived in or near St. Louis later. Mary Griffith was daughter of Jacob and Minerva Jane Dunlacey Griffith. Does anyone have any additional information on the John and Mary Byerly family? My grandmother was Velma Bartlett Weber. I live in Pulaski County and have alot of information on the Bartlett Family of Pulaski County. They are all descendants of John McMurtrie and Mary Bartlett who came from Kentucky and settled first in Miller Co, then Pulaski, then went on to Moniteau County where he died. Can you give me some more information. I haven't any listing for these people.
