I was putting out queries on William Oscar, but looking at another child's information. William WAS the child of William Andrew and Paulina Elizabeth (Harrison) Jackson. The 1860 Census, Central Township, Jefferson County, shows William A. age 30 with the following children: Lucinda age 17, (his sister,) George B, (Benjamin?) age 6, Chase (Charles?) age 4 and Margaret age 1. Are these his and Palina's (Paulina) children? If they are, what happened to them? Are you a descendant or relative of William Oscar Jackson? Mary
Correction to my post on Children of William Andrew JACKSON. William Oscar JACKSON was the son of William Andrew and Pa(u)lina Elizabeth HARRISON and NOT of Narcissus Ann (WILEY) JACKSON. Also wondering about Margaret age 1, found in the 1860, Jefferson County, census. Pa(u)lina died in 1858, yet Margaret was one year old in 1860. William and Narcissus didn't get married until 12 June 1861, so where does Margaret fit in?
I have William Oscar JACKSON as son of William and his first wife. Elizabeth died in 1858 after Wm. O. 's birth in 1856. William A. married Narissa in 1861. Or was something going on? Kathy, I just wanted to let you know that we visited the cemetery this weekend and found John Aaron and Mary. We also visited the Manes Cemetery and the Mays-Gillispie cemetery which is, unfortunately, quite over-grown. We found the markers of John Aaron's parents, Seth and Rebecca Manes. I had understood Seth's grave to be unmarked but it now has a small flat marker: Seth Manes 1804-1896 it is right next to "Rebeckey's" which has fallen down. (Actually, my information is that Seth was born in 1814, so now I'm a little confused!)
