John H. Miller obit John Henry Miller, formerly of Pleasant Hope, was born July 14, 1952 in Springfield, and died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 in Wichita, Kansas where he had lived since 1984. Buriel will be at Pleasant Hope Cemetery, Sunday, March 16, at 1:00. John died of complications following several heart attacks he had had over the last 6 months which was unknown to him or his family. John was the youngest son of John Horace Miller and Georgia Marie Chapman of Pleasant Hope and graduated from Pleasant Hope High School in 1970, and Southwest Baptist College in 1974 with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Math. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of 9, at the 1st Baptist Church of Pleasant Hope and continued to grow in the Lord through the years. He married Lanita Sconce, daughter of Rev. Johny W. and Wandalea Sconce of Bolivar, in 1974 and a son, John Michael, was added to their family in 1981. He was preceeded in death by his parents. Along with his son, Michael, and ex-wife, Lanita, he is survived by a brother, Chester Miller and his wife, Mary Ann, of Forsyth, MO; a sister, Velma Stevens and her husband, Jim, of Branson; neices, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
