I'm looking for the families of James Black and Mary Ann Carter his wife. They left Lee County, IL in 1874 and ended up in Jasper Co, MO. With them was Mary Ann's 1/2 brother Peter Shell. Peter we know went to KS several times - whether on his route to Mo or afterwards. Once, when in KS he had a William and a David Black with him. James and Mary Ann had sons William and David. There were also Carters with them and perhaps other Shells (Schells). As much as they "drifted" for a few years before settling in Jasper Co., I wonder if they ever lived in Polk Co since it is right next door? David married a Cleveland who lived in Lamar, MO (Barton Co) and I've never found anything of him after that. I have a lot of Bakers and Akard (Eckards) in Polk but have never found any of my Blacks there. Can anyone connect to these Blacks? Thanks so much. Millie Conrad
